Power of Being a Girl and Strength in Being a Boy Registration Now Open!

Registration is now open for YWCA St. John's Power of Being a Girl and Strength in Being a Boy conferences!

Each year in October, YWCA St. John's holds two empowerment-based conferences for youth - Power of Being a Girl™ and Strength in Being a Boy™. Emphasizing violence prevention, the conferences respond to the needs of the community with this years workshops focusing on healthy relationships and consent, gender stereotypes, and the impact of media and social media. These conferences provide fun and safe learning environments that foster opportunities for youth to engage in character-building activities and learn decision-making skills.

Where: The Gathering Place, 172 Military Road

When: Sunday, October 23, 2016 - 9:30 am to 3:15 pm (registration starts at 9:00 am) 

The conferences are FREE of charge and are open to youth ages 12 to 15. Preregistration required and closes on October 12; limited number of spaces of available. To access the preregistration form, please click here.
