Guided by YWCA Canada, YWCA St. John’s is part of a network of 29 YWCA’s across the country working together on national advocacy priorities.
YWCA Canada creates change through informed advocacy which aims to:
End gender-based violence
Implement national child care
Achieve economic equality
End homelessness for women, girls, and gender diverse folks

Response to COVID-19 Impacts
YWCA St. John’s worked in collaboration with YWCA Canada and other YWCA Member Associations across Canada to navigate unprecedented times and the effects it had on our communities. As an organization committed to gender equity, we addressed some of the unique impacts COVID-19 had on women and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities around the globe, here in Canada, and in our own community.
