YWCA St. John’s provides confidential employment supports to immigrant women and gender-diverse newcomers to Canada over the age of 18, who are based in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Connextions Employment Program is a 17-week employment program, beginning in November 2025.
The 17-week program includes:
7 week training (in-person, Nov 3-Dec 18)
10 week work placement (beginning in Winter 2026)
Program Eligibility:
Immigrant women/gender-diverse people
any citizenship status (temporary residents/open work permits are welcome)
Over the age of 18
Not in school
Unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week)
Available for in-person training at YWCA St. John’s Offices
Monday-Thursday (9:30-3:30 PM)
Able to begin work in Winter 2026, 30 hours per week
